Frequently asked questions
Where is my data stored?
Your income, expense, plan, budget, and debt records are stored on your own device, and with Kalan Pro and iCloud sync turned on, in your own iCloud account. The developer has no server or account that holds them and can't access them. For details, see the Privacy Policy.
How does iCloud sync work?
With Kalan Pro, when iCloud is available, your records sync automatically between the devices signed in to the same iCloud account. Sync isn't guaranteed to be instant; a change on one device can take a while to show up on another. If it doesn't sync, check that your devices use the same iCloud account, that iCloud and Kalan's iCloud access are on in iPhone Settings, that you have an internet connection, and that you have enough iCloud storage. You can pause sync with the "iCloud sync" switch in Kalan's Settings; pausing doesn't delete your records in iCloud.
How do I cancel or manage my Kalan Pro subscription?
Subscriptions are managed in your Apple Account, not inside Kalan. On iPhone: Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Kalan. There you can change your plan or cancel. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. If you cancel, you can use Pro features until the end of the current period. Deleting the app doesn't cancel the subscription.
When Pro ends, your extra accounts, budgets, and Pro charts aren't deleted; they're hidden, and show up again as they were if you subscribe again.
How do I restore my purchase?
If you've moved to a new device or reinstalled the app, sign in with the same Apple Account and tap "Restore purchases" in Settings or on the Kalan Pro screen. The subscription is tied to the Apple Account you purchased with.
I'd like a refund.
Apple collects the payment, so refund requests go through Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com. The developer can't issue refunds.
How do I delete my data?
Tap "Delete all my data" at the bottom of Settings and confirm. It deletes your records on this device and the Kalan data in your own iCloud account; your other synced devices receive the deletion too (when they do isn't guaranteed). It can't be undone. Deleting doesn't cancel your Kalan Pro subscription; you need to cancel it with Apple as described above.
Deleting the app removes the copy on the device, but the copy in iCloud remains. We recommend using "Delete all my data" first.
Why don't the rates match my bank's rate?
Kalan uses the European Central Bank's daily reference rates (through the Frankfurter service). These are reference rates, not bank buy/sell rates or live rates.
Does Kalan connect to my bank?
No. Kalan doesn't connect to bank accounts; you enter your records yourself.
